About Carole
Murphy’s creations speak to the value of one individual’s contribution through personal exploration. Working in her 1600 square foot studio, Murphy takes green mediums such as recycled steel, recycled fiber clay, encaustics, found objects and creates her own organic forms and expositional interpretations. “I play with balance and the role it has in stretching both the creator and the viewer into considering the world with new eyes.”
Murphy’s sculptures have been shown across the US in such places as Maryhill Museum, Oregon, Austin Gallery, Texas and LKG Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was influenced by Alec Jurkiewicz and so many others. Having held the position of president of the Pacific Northwest Sculptors for several years and been the director of the Sculptors’ Gallery, Carole continues to also add her voice to the artistic scene through curating the occasional show.
